Right now, there are plenty of worried Pittsburgh Steelers fans, but Wisconsin football supporters are also feeling the same way. That's because late in the contest between the Steelers and Eagles over in Philly, star pass-rusher T.J. Watt went down with a concerning injury.
Watt was trying to put pressure on Jalen Hurts, but he went down to the ground and he was visibly in a ton of pain. The good news is that he was able to walk off under his own power, but he was in a ton of pain, with a team trainer looking at his lower leg/ankle region.
The absolute last thing Pittsburgh can afford is losing Watt for any amount of time moving forward. Watt made his way to the blue medical tent, but then he was walking quite gingerly back to the locker room. He was seen throwing his gloves in anger too, which is not a good sign.
Steelers star TJ Watt left Week 15 early with a lower leg injury and fans are worried
This game just went final, with the Eagles posting a 27-13 victory. It was a disappointing result for the Steelers, but the main focus right now is on Watt's health. If a serious injury was avoided, there's going to be a tremendous amount of relief for Mike Tomlin.
However, things are a bit up in the air there. Before suffering his injury against the Eagles, Watt was on absolute fire making plays for the Steelers defense. He was consistently making things tough for Hurts, posting two sacks and a forced fumble.
When he's at full health, Watt is arguably the best defensive player in the NFL. He also means the world to the Steelers on that side of the ball. Hopefully, a positive update comes in on the All-Pro talent soon.
