Luke Fickell and Wisconsin continue to push into the 2026 class, lining up more visits and competing heavily with other high profile schools. One of their top targets at the tight end position is Gavin Mueller, who is listed as a 3-star recruit and has 20 offers from all over the country. Mueller released his top eight schools yesterday and Wisconsin not only made the cut but some wonder if the Badgers may lead the race for Mueller.

3-star Gavin Mueller is one of Wisconsin's main targets at TE
Mueller today posted on X that he had narrowed the 20 offers down to eight that he wants to focus on and schedule visits to. He named NC State, Arkansas, Purdue, Wisconsin, Colorado, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, and Texas A&M. The TE out of Wheaton, Illinois is listed as the 36th best tight end in the class but with that kind of list, he may be flying under the radar a bit.
According to On3 recruiting, the experts there give the slight edge to Wisconsin as the favorite school to land Mueller. The Badgers are listed as a 35.4% likelihood while the next closest is Notre Dame at 15.9%. These are just predictions based on info the experts have heard about his interests, but his recruitment is clearly an eight-horse race. The visits will help reduce the list and eventually allow him to figure out which school he wants to play for.
Fickell and his staff have been hard at work in the 2026 recruiting cycle. While they have only landed one commitment in the class so far, they have lined up a ton of visits in the spring and summer with some of the premier players and top targets in the class. Stay tuned, things are just now heating up for the Badgers in the recruiting for 2026.
