Update: After posting this article, Maile Chan also found a new home at Florida State University. That's now three former Badgers with new volleyball programs.
After leaving Wisconsin volleyball, two former Badgers have found a new home through the transfer portal. Both Addy Horner and Trinity Shadd-Ceres, entered their names after the Badgers' crushing defeat to Kentucky in the national semifinals, and now they've landed with their next program.
Horner will head to TCU, while Shadd-Ceres will take her talents to Creighton. While the decision to transfer wasn't too shocking in Horner's case, Shadd-Ceres was a bit more of a surprise. Coach Kelly Sheffield moved quickly to replace them, adding outside hitter Eva Travis from UC Santa Barbara, and setter Isabelle Hoppe. Now, Horner and Shadd-Ceres will look to move up into the starting lineup in thier new homes.
Two former Badgers landed with a pair of elite programs
Horner, who would find herself behind star setter Charlie Fuerbringer once again in 2026, left to presumably find a starting role in Texas. She announced her commitment on social media, thanking TCU for the opportunity.
"Grateful for the past, excited for the future," wrote Horner. "Thank you to the entire coaching staff at TCU for this opportunity. See yall in Fort Worth."
Meanwhile outside hitter Shadd-Ceres heads to Creighton, who made the quarterfinals of this year's tournament.
"I am so pumped to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at Creighton University," wrote Shadd-Ceres in a post. "I am so grateful for all the support I've received from my family and friends! A huge thank you to the incredible coaching staff for the opportunity and new home! Can't wait to be apart of something great!!"
