The fallout continues for Wisconsin football and Luke Fickell. It's hard to sit through the workweek and deal with the state of the football program. The photo that keeps Wisconsin fans up at night and serves as a reminder of where the program stands is one of the half-empty Camp Randall Stadium with still most of the fourth quarter to play. The fanbase had given up on Fickell, and many left disgusted with the play versus Maryland.
If you haven't seen the photo (and there are many variations of it) here it is:

Camp Randall was half-empty by the middle of the fourth quarter against Maryland

As soon as Jump Around ended, people began to make their way to the car. The game wasn't close, and it didn't look like there was going to be any sort of comeback. The team had zero things going for it, and Maryland, a lackluster Big Ten team, was mopping the floor with the Badgers. It was hard to watch and a tough pill to swallow. Might as well make it back to the car and get out of there.
The fans turned on Luke Fickell pretty early in this one. The growing frustration with the head coach and the state of the program has been simmering since the end of last season. Boos began raining down on Wisconsin in the first quarter after Maryland took an early lead.
It only escalated when the student section began chanting, "FIRE FICKELL!" That chant spread throughout the stadium as the disgust grew. It was an ugly day in Camp Randall; the fans that stayed were booing, and the other half simply left.

The hard part is that, without a way out of Luke Fickell's contract, this season is setting up to be a two-win season. The Athletic Director is backing Fickell, creating more frustration. The lack of hope may begin to breed apathy in an already frustrated fanbase.
