As the NFL Combine approaches, NFL hopefuls are looking to showcase their skills before the NFL Draft in April. There are a few Badgers who are expecting to hear their names called during the draft this spring, so where do the experts expect them to land in their full seven-round mock draft?
S Hunter Wohler
Pro Football Network: 188th - NY Jets
A to Z Sports: Undrafted
The beloved safety for Wisconsin had an impressive Senior Bowl, and certainly boosted his draft stock ahead of the combine. Wohler had a down year compared to his 2023 season however, going from 120 tackles and two interceptions to just 71 tackles and zero picks. He does have great size and awareness for the position and should be coveted in later rounds. According to the two mock drafts, he's predicted as a sixth round pick and surprisingly even undrafted.
OT Jack Nelson
Pro Football Network: 189th - San Fransisco 49ers
A to Z Sports: 183rd - Los Angeles Chargers
Nelson is projected to be a sixth round pick in both mock drafts. Nelson started for four years along the Badger offensive line and brings a wealth of experience. He has the ability to play on either the left or the right side, so teams looking for some flexibility will be excited to scoop him up as a later round swing tackle.
OG Joe Huber
Pro Football Network: 256th - Kansas City Chiefs
A to Z Sports: 241st - Tennessee Titans
Huber is the third Badger expected to be drafted in April and he's falling somewhere in the seventh round according to the mocks. Huber followed head coach Luke Fickell from Cincinnati to Wisconsin where he excelled on the interior of the line each of his two seasons. All three players will attend the NFL combine and their draft spots should become even clearer after their performances.
