Wisconsin is in the mix for a 4-star running back, Amari Latimer, out of Georgia. He is down to five schools: Texas, Miami, Michigan, Tennessee, and Wisconsin. The edge by the experts has been placed as a Texas lean. He even has one crystal ball in for him to become a Longhorn on 24/7 Sports by Hank South of the Texas Longhorns 24/7 site. However, does Wisconsin actually have an advantage?

Wisconsin fans are hoping that having Geimere Latimer on the roster will help with the recruitment of Amari Latimer since they are brothers.

4-star Amari Latimer is the brother of a recent transfer portal signee, Geimere Latimer II. Geimere played cornerback for Jacksonville State last season and jumped in the portal when the season ended. He played as a true freshman a season ago and got minutes in all thirteen games. He then played last season as a sophomore for the Gamecocks and was an absolute force from the defensive back position. He had 46 tackles, three interceptions, and five pass deflections.

He seemingly had other choices but decided to come to Wisconsin, which may be a good thing for the recruitment of his little brother.

There's no word on whether this helps tick the box in the favor of the Badgers, but it certainly has to help. Besides that one expert on 24/7, many aren't sure exactly what destination Latimer will choose.

On3.com reports that he is nearing a decision, but he has another visit scheduled on January 18th. This one may come down to the wire, but Wisconsin fans are hoping that having his brother on the roster will be a bonus for landing this star running back.

Wisconsin currently has two commitments for the 2026 class, and while the recruiting in that class is just starting to heat up, landing a few big-time players at the beginning can often help lead others to make a similar choice and become a Badger.
