There's a wide receiver who's flying under the radar in terms of recruiting websites in Florida. Yet, he's not from colleges, especially lately, as more and more programs are noticing his play-making abilities. Tavares Powell is a 3-star wide receiver but is currently unranked on 24/7 Sports. Yet, he holds offers from 23 programs, and many of them are high majors.
According to Rivals and Evan Flood, Powell is narrowing his focus down to three programs, with Wisconsin being one of them. As more and more programs start sniffing around, Luke Fickell is hoping his now scheduled visit to Madison will lock him up to be a Badger.

Powell wasn't originally on the visit list for the first weekend of official visits this offseason, but Ari Confessor has been working to add him. Recently, Powell decided to make the trip and will now be one of 16 players coming (that 24/7 Sports knows about). This is also a weekend that has a ton of already committed Wisconsin recruits.
Those recruits are planning to full-court press the recruits that will be in Madison over that weekend, working to get their commitment too, and build a special class. The 2027 recruiting class is already a thing of beauty; it's currently ranked top-15 in the nation, and it's stuffed full of in-state talent. It's beautiful, and it is only getting better.
Powell would be a great addition; he's 6'0 and 170 pounds and does a ton of damage in space. In his junior year highlight video, you can see how he loves to create something out of nothing with wide receiver screens and end-arounds. He also, though, can use his 6'0 frame to make those contested catches.
His abilities are still developing, and he will only get better in college, as most of his play and route running rely on natural athleticism and burst. Wisconsin may have found a diamond in the rough; hopefully, Fickell and company can get him to commit.
