Badger fans were left disappointed when Wisconsin missed the cut for one of the top prospects of 2027. But after missing out on the initial finalist list a month ago, Wisconsin appears to be back from the dead for one of the highest-rated quarterbacks in the class.

Badgers back in the mix for top 2027 quarterback Trae Taylor

Trae Taylor, quarterback out of Indiana, unveiled his top five schools back in February. The list included Michigan, Illinois, Texas A&M, LSU and Nebraska, with Wisconsin left on the outside looking in. It seems though, that since Kenny Guiton's promotion to quarterback coach, the Badgers are back in the fold for the coveted signal caller.

As the No. 4 quarterback and No. 11 prospect overall in the 2027 class according to Rivals, Taylor would be a monster get for the Badgers, who do not yet have a commitment for the class. The young quarterback acknowledged that coach Guiton has been a huge reason for getting Wisconsin back into the fold.

"Coach Guiton has been just awesome since becoming the QB coach," he posted on social media. Despite announcing his top schools, Taylor has continued to stay in contact with the Badgers, and was up for a campus visit this past Tuesday. "Just because I got it down to my top five, didn't mean I was going to stop communicating with other schools," said Taylor in his interview with 247Sports.

Taylor plans to make his commitment this summer, and hopefully Wisconsin can make one final push to land the talented quarterback.
