On Thanksgiving Day, the Wisconsin Badgers feasted on the Providence Friars’ defense, 104-83. It was the first time this season the Badgers had topped 100 points in a game. Nick Boyd put on a show in his hometown, finishing with a career-high 36 points on 15-of-25 shots from the floor. Austin Rapp was also productive against the Friars with his first 20-point game as a Wisconsin Badger, including a solid first half where he drained three straight 3-pointers near the end of the half.
One thing that became clear as the game went on was just how poor the Providence defense was against Wisconsin. Not only did Wisconsin own a 28-point lead at one point in the second half, but the Badgers walloped the Friars in fast-break points, 32-14, and averaged 1.3 points per possession on Thursday. In addition, Wisconsin held a 44-32 edge in points in the paint.
Friars fans were none-too-pleased with what they saw in San Diego.
Providence fans are furious after blowout loss to Wisconsin
Kim English's kiss of death will be his lack of adjustments.

"We're gonna refocus on defense in practice"
Mate you just gave up 104 to Wisconsin. You're seat is on fire.
Shame because he is a plus recruiter. He will be fired at season's end.
The writing = on the wall.
PC gave up 104 points to a Wisconsin team that typically plays at a snails tempo. The team is beyond disconnected on both ends. Kim English starts every other press conference with “that was a disappointing effort”. The Kim English tenure needs to end soon if this keeps up

Kim English should be fired during this half time. Just a joke honestly, being a friar used to mean something

Can’t even make fun of Georgetown for thinking they’re back because Kim English is my coach 💔💔💔💔 pic.twitter.com/OSg6Yebh8W

To my friend Kim English; rest now brother. We have the watch, and I’ll see you in Valhalla

I want Kim English to work so bad man but we are beyond the experimentation phase. We are not even competitive, with the budget we supposedly have… were a 4k undergrad school in RI, having seasons like last and this one are just huge multi-year setbacks. $ dries up quick.

In other news can we please fire Kim English? He has been horrible in his tenure as the PC head coach and it makes me sad that I don’t even want to watch games anymore, let alone continue donating money to the program https://t.co/z39A3IWnai
This month, Kim English was one of five head coaches considered on the hot seat by Busting Brackets. It’s understandable considering Providence went 12-20 in English’s second season as head coach. While Providence came into the Rady Children’s Invitational with a solid 4-2 record and a potent offense, their defense was a question mark. The Friars had given up 82.5 PPG and ranked 92nd in Ken Pomeroy’s (KenPom) adjusted defensive efficiency. As of Friday morning, the Friars rank 103rd in KenPom’s DRtg.
On the other hand, for the Badgers, it was a much-needed response after their disastrous performance against BYU in Salt Lake City. While the Friars get to take on the 10th-ranked Florida Gators in the 3rd-place game, the Wisconsin Badgers enter the championship game against a solid TCU Horned Frogs squad that almost upset 6th-ranked Michigan in Fort Worth earlier this season.
