Wisconsin basketball has been cruising lately with five straight wins, most of them in convincing fashion. The Badgers have found themselves back in the AP Top 25 poll, logging in at No. 24. Wisconsin fans have recognized the amazing play that has kicked in since the Illinois loss. The nation is now noticing ahead of a big matchup with Ohio State on Tuesday.
Wisconsin basketball is ranked 24 in the AP Poll.
Wisconsin was last ranked by the AP Poll in week six when they were ranked 20th, which was during a stretch of losing three in a row quad-one games to Michigan, Marquette, and Illinois. Things have turned since then and they have another quad one opportunity with Ohio State this week.
Wisconsin fans react to the reemergence of the Badgers in the AP Top 25:
Wisconsin is now 24 in the NET rankings, 23 in the KenPom, 27 in ESPN BPI, and 24 in the AP Poll. They are 2-3 in the quad one game and undefeated in all the other quadrants. They currently have nine more quad-one games left to play (if nothing changes). This will give them a ton of opportunities to improve their resume throughout the season. The Big Ten features some of the best basketball, but it's a conference that often eats its own in head-to-head matchups.
The other Big Ten teams in the rankings are Michigan State (12), Oregon (13), Purdue (17), Illinois (19), Michigan (20), and of course Wisconsin at 24. While no Big Ten teams are in the top 10 of the AP Poll, the conference is loaded with great basketball, and the rest of the season will be a grind, test, and opportune.
Wisconsin hosts Ohio State on Tuesday night at Kohl Center at 8 pm CST, and the game will be on Peacock (only).
