There was an argument to be made that the Wisconsin Badgers were disrespected last week in their drop in the AP Top 25 ranking. They went from 17 to 21 with only one loss that wasn't a damaging loss, it was a Quad 1 loss. However, the only thing you can do about not dropping is by winning. This week Wisconsin did exactly that, won both times they played.
The Badgers should be moving up in the ranking, but the question is, where will they land? The easiest way to go about predicting this is by looking at how the other teams around them faired this week. Here's a list of the teams from 15-23.
Wisconsin should move up the AP Top 25 ranking
No. 15 Missouri Tigers - Lost to No. 4 Tennessee and No. 10 Texas A&M
No. 16 Kansas Jayhawks - Beat No. 8 Iowa State and lost to Kansas State
No. 17 Memphis Tigers - Beat Tulsa and Temple
No. 18 Maryland Terrapins - Lost to Ohio State and beat Rutgers
No. 19 UCONN Huskies - Lost to UCONN
No. 20 Arizona Wildcats - Beat BYU and No. 13 Texas Tech
No. 21 Wisconsin Badgers - Beat Indiana and Iowa
No. 22 Mississippi State - Beat Georgia
No. 23 Illinois Fighting Illini - Lost to Rutgers and beat Minnesota
In that list, only a few teams went 2-0: Memphis, Arizona, and Wisconsin. Every other team lost once, lost twice, or only played once. No. 15 Missouri Tigers is the only team that lost both games in this list. UCONN also lost once but only played once. Another team that may drop into this range or even fall almost out is No. 11 Marquette, who lost twice this week.
Wisconsin will move up, but how high? The case can be made that they should move up about 3 or 4 spots.
