The Wisconsin Badgers have been slowly making a name for themselves this season. When the first NET rankings were released this season, Wisconsin was 17 and then proceeded to find struggles in their schedule and in what head coach Greg Gard would call connectivity. However, in the last few weeks, the Badgers have been one of the hottest teams in the country, winning five straight, including big wins over Purdue and Illinois. They are making noise, and even Vegas has noticed and adjusted.

Wisconsin's odds to win the National Championship are now +3500 and 10th best in the nation

The Badgers are now in the top 10 of Vegas odds (according to FanDuel) to win the National Championship. It feels incredible and even a bit insane, considering Gard's March Madness resume. However, this team is doing things that have never been done before at Wisconsin, scoring at an incredible rate with a growing defense to go along with it.

While we fans can dream about the future of this Badgers team, the goal of the players and coaches is to keep getting better. Greg Gard was effusive in his press conference about how this team hasn't hit the peak yet, "I hope we aren't peaking, we are still ascending, we have to get better."

Wisconsin has just five games left in the regular season and then they will participate in the Big Ten tournament (which they've already clinched their spot in). There's still a lot of basketball to be played, but if things keep going this way, there is also a ton of excitement in the Wisconsin fan's future.

The next game is against Oregon at home in the Kohl Center. That game will air on FOX at 11 am CT on Saturday, Feb. 22. It's an essential game for the Badgers to win to continue to impress and make a play for the Big Ten title.
