Greg Gard and the Wisconsin Badgers are about to enter into another big transfer portal window as it opens on April 7th. There's already been a lot of movement, and the portal hasn't even officially opened, but as it goes, it'll be harder to keep track. That's the goal of what we are doing here: keeping things up to date so you don't have to.
The Badgers were already due to have a lot of change this offseason with Nick Boyd, Braeden Carrington, and Andrew Rohde all graduating. It got even more spicy when John Blackwell decided to depart for the portal (or maybe the NBA). That means the Badgers are replacing three starters and their 6th man.
Outgoing Transfers:
John Blackwell, Guard, Junior
Jack Robison, Forward, Sophomore
Riccardo Greppi, Forward, Sophomore

Incoming Transfers:
Right now, there aren't any official transfers. However, Wisconsin did pick up 22-year-old point guard Owen Foxwell from the NBL in Australia. He's going to be assuming the starting position for Nick Boyd. He doesn't count as a transfer as he's an international recruit, but he does fill a big spot with a veteran leader.
As the portal doesn't officially open until April 7th, there won't be any listed "incoming transfers" until that point. Then it could be a blitz, as Gard usually has a pretty confident list, and he attacks it aggressively.
Gard is also a wizard in the portal. He's crushed it three years in a row from AJ Storr to John Tonje to Nick Boyd (and even Braeden Carrington). Gard continues to find underappreciated talent in the portal and then maximizes it for the Badgers. All three of them for only one year. Storr went on to Kansas and flopped, Tonje is now in the NBA, and Boyd just graduated.
