Wisconsin will finally play an actual game today as the 2025 season kicks off against Miami (OH) on Thursday night. While the Badgers are heavily favored, nothing is given, and the RedHawks' veteran quarterback may give the Badgers all they can handle.

Dequan Finn, a transfer from Baylor, will take the field for Miami (OH) at Camp Randall, and he's no stranger to big games. The dual-threat quarterback could prove to be a problem for the revamped Badger defense in week one if they aren't careful. Cornerback Ricardo Hallman broke down the challenge Finn presents ahead of the matchup.

"I just think first and foremost with him, he can affect the game in multiple ways," said Hallman. "He's a real improviser, a great thrower of the deep ball, and I think that kind of opens them up to challenge in a lot of ways. So I think when you look at him on film, he throws, like I said, a deep ball really well. And I think he's more of an improviser than he is a true scrambler. But he can definitely sustain plays."

To go along with his 7,377 career passing yards, Finn adds nearly 2,000 more on the ground as well as 27 rushing touchdowns. The longtime Toledo quarterback transferred to Baylor last season with limited success, but is now back in the MAC with his eyes on a conference title.

While the Badgers are very much the favorite in this one, the players certainly aren't looking ahead to week two. Finn is a dangerous quarterback and can cause problems early on if Wisconsin lets him start to scramble and make plays.
