Wisconsin fans are already actively recruiting top QB in the portal

It's no secret that Wisconsin needs to make some big splashes in the transfer portal this offseason. Badgers head coach Luke Fickell has already confirmed that the team will be active in the portal to grab a quarterback, and Wisconsin fans have quickly begun recruiting.

Quarterback Colton Joseph, the Old Dominion quarterback who recently entered the transfer portal, was also just named the Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year. The redshirt sophomore threw for 2,624 yards while also adding another 1,007 yards on the ground.

Joseph is one of the top quarterbacks in the portal at the moment, and Wisconsin fans have quickly taken to social media to let him know where his next destination should be.

Badger fans are already hot on the recruiting trail

It might be time for Wisconsin to put their money where their mouth is, and go out and get one of the hottest names in the portal. Joseph would certainly be a nice fit for Jeff Grimes' offense with his ability to run and throw. He ended the season with 21 passing touchdowns and 13 rushing touchdowns and provides more upside than Carter Smith at the moment.

But despite his impressive numbers, there's no guarantee that Fickell and company can get a deal done. Wisconsin has swung and missed in back-to-back years in the portal, with both Billy Edwards Jr. and Tyler Van Dyke missing the majority of their seasons due to injury. Time will tell if the Badgers can finally find an answer at quarterback in the Luke Fickell era.
