An intriguing name just jumped into the transfer portal for college basketball. Iowa big man Owen Freeman has decided he is ready to look for a new home. The name is jumping off the page for Wisconsin fans because of how heavily Wisconsin tried to land him out of high school. It helps that Freeman was impressive as a Hawkeye.

Owen Freeman has entered the portal and it's a name that Wisconsin fans want to see as a Badger

When Joe Tipton from On3.com posted that Freeman has jumped into the transfer portal, the response from Badger fans was pretty quick and excited. His recruitment came down to Wisconsin and Iowa as he officially visited both universities before ultimately deciding to play for Iowa. Can Greg Gard grab him now out of the portal? Badger fans hope so.

There's an interesting wrinkle in his recruitment. According to On3.com, he is in the portal with a "do not contact" tag. This means that he most likely already knows where he wants to go and/or he plans to only reach out to the schools he has pre-determined. The assumption would be that his agent and Freeman have already talked with him and figured out a good landing spot for him.

Freeman is a sophomore 6'10 big man who averaged 16.7 points and 6.7 rebounds this season before going down with an injury to finish his season. He has received surgery for his finger and will be ready to go as soon as the next season arrives. He had three double-doubles this season and was close to a few more in only 19 games this season. He's a force down on the block for rebounds and can also utilize his body to score with relative ease.

The only concern is that he isn't a big man who shoots from behind the arch, which Wisconsin has utilized well this season. He does shoot the occasional three, but he isn't known for that in his game. Either way, Wisconsin fans would be eager to have him join the Badgers.
