Luke Fickell added the best-rated recruit of the 2026 recruiting class in 4-star wide receiver Jayden Petit out of Naples, Florida. Fickell teased earlier today that there was an upcoming commitment with his "#JumpAroundMadTown26" social media post. Then, news started trickling out that it was a big commitment, one of the blue-chip players in the class. Now that's official, Wisconsin fans jumped on social media to post their excitement about this huge recruiting news.

The top-30 wide receiver out of Florida is Fickell’s biggest recruiting win of the 2026 cycle so far

Jayden Petit is considered one of those "program-changing" recruits due to his potential and current athletic ability. He's 6'4 and uses his frame to box out defensive backs, but can also use his speed and route running ability to take the top off of a defense. Andrew Ivins of 24/7 Sports said this in his scouting profile of Petit, "Attacks leverage with his initial burst and does an admirable job of sinking his hips at the top of routes to break off defensive backs before driving back towards the football. Likes to mix speeds as he works his way up or across the field."

Wisconsin fans were elated online, here's a collection of some of the best reactions to the commitment of Petit.

There were actually a lot of responses like Dohn Jaly's above, and the context of the joke is that it follows the Xavier Lucas drama. Miami fans took to social media to tell Wisconsin fans that they would never get another recruit from South Florida due to how Wisconsin handled Lucas.

This is truly significant news, as Petit is one of the top wide receivers in the class, and his stock continues to rise. He will also now form part of the big three of 2026 receivers committed: Tayshon Bardo and Zion Legree. It's also impressive because Wisconsin was able to beat out Oklahoma and Missouri to secure the commitment of Petit.
