The Badgers' new athletic director, Shawn Eichorst, may end up being a home run at Wisconsin; it's clearly too early to tell. He nearly said everything right at the press conference. His focus on how special the University of Wisconsin is, the weaving together of athletics and academics, the big things he learned when he was at Texas, and so many more moments where, as a Wisconsin fan, you think, maybe he gets it.

However, there was a hilarious eye-roll moment that had Wisconsin fans cringing. When he told the media that there's "swag at Texas and we have swag too, but we have a little humility with that deal." It caused even the reporters in the room to casually chuckle to break the awkward tension.

Mostly what he was saying was fine, but it was how he was saying that had Wisconsin fans saying "oh boy..." If you start looking at the reactions to a video posted with that quote, you will find all sorts of funny responses. From "This is going to be painfully fun" to "lol" and "oh no..." But there were also just clearly humorous responses like the one below: A meme of a middle-aged man pretending to be a teenager.

Wisconsin fans actually should be a little used to this middle-aged man saying funny "cool" things in press conferences. Kelly Sheffield is the most notable person on a Wisconsin mic to drop a phrase or a word, either to see how his players react or because his players put him up to it. Greg Gard has even been known to have a few of these moments.

So, it's really more of an eye-roll for most Badger fans, and then you read into what he's trying to say beyond the weird "swag" phrase. He's saying that Wisconsin is a special place with a lot to offer. It may be different than Texas in a lot of ways, but it can have the same level of respect and the same level of appreciation across the nation. "We need to get our shoulders up. We need to feel good about what we are doing."

He's not wrong, at least when it comes to football and how the school is looked at in that department. Eichorst says that "we are being judged by the left column and the right column," meaning the wins and losses. He then pivots to recognizing how much he has learned at Texas and how the alignment of leadership is a big takeaway for him. How to do things the right way, and how to bring a lot of that to Wisconsin without losing the culture of Wisconsin.

It was a great press conference full of all the right things, but it had a nice cringe moment. However, don't judge it based on that; even if it's an "eye-roll," it was full of other great soundbites and moments. More to come on that here at Badger of Honor.
