Wisconsin Flips Another Four-Star Recruit in Wild Week
After de-committing from Michigan a month ago, quarterback Carter Smith has now committed to Wisconsin, he announced.
Smith is the 15th ranked quarterback in the 2025 class and the 25th commit for the Badgers this cycle. The Florida native had originally committed to the Michigan, but after the Wolverines became involved with number one overall prospect Bryce Underwood, Smith de-committed. He had narrowed his search down to Wisconsin and Florida State, but after visiting Madison for the Oregon game, he canceled his visit with the Seminoles.
Wisconsin now has Smith and Landyn Locke, the younger brother of current starter Braedyn, as quarterback commits for 2025. Smith is the highest rated recruit the Badgers have ever had from the state of Florida. He'll arrive to campus in January.
Whoever coach Luke Fickell hires as the new offensive coordinator may have his quarterback of the future, although the team could still explore the transfer market. But Smith is a huge get for the team and represents the new regime's recruiting prowess. Despite a 5-6 record, Wisconsin has flipped two four-star Michigan commits this week alone.
