Wisconsin football has dominated one team unlike any other throughout history

Northwestern has a long history of getting smashed by Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Badgers have historically whooped up on the same teams over and over. There are 17 teams against which Wisconsin has a +100 point differential. Eight are over +200; however, one is one that Wisconsin has dominated to the tune of +841, over 200 points more than the next closest team on the list.

The Northwestern Wildcats have historically been the team that Wisconsin has loved to beat and to pretty impressive scores. We will get into this in a minute, but the top six teams that Wisconsin has beaten with the highest point differential are:

1. Northwestern +841
2. Indiana +625
3. Marquette +520 (hasn't had a football team since 1960)
4. Beloit +363 (more on this below)
5. Purdue +349
6. Illinois +263

The Wisconsin Badgers love to beat up on the Northwestern Wildcats

Wisconsin and Northwestern have faced off 106 times, with the Badgers winning 63 of those games and tying with the Wildcats five times. Part of the reason this score differential is so lopsided is that Wisconsin has shut out Northwestern 12 times and kept them to 10 or fewer points 39 times, including last season, in which the Wildcats only scored three points.

The Wildcats love to beat up on Northwestern, though they actually lost the first game to the Wildcats in 1890 22-10. It was in 1891, in their third game with Northwestern, that they beat them 40-0 to secure the first win and the start of the impressive point differential.

Now, quick note about the Beloit stat. Wisconsin only played Beloit nine times, never after 1905, but in those times, it beat them a total of 369-6. So maybe it shouldn't be included since it's ancient, but then again, it is part of the record book. Which is why I felt it was important to put Illinois in at the bottom to make it a more true top five.
