The 2025 College Football National Championship has yet to declare a winner, yet betting sources are already putting out odds for the 2026 edition. Many of them let the list go through all the colleges, even Wisconsin. For most Badgers fans, this feels like a "no-shot" situation, but that wouldn't be true. The odds have been placed, and no, Wisconsin is not at the bottom. The odds are crazy, no doubt, but they aren't the worst.

Wisconsin football is +15000 to win the 2026 College Football National Championship.

FanDuel went through all the college football teams and put odds on them to win the championship, and while Wisconsin is low on the list, they aren't the worst. With +15000, you might even think, how are they that low? Seems like they should be lower.

Some notable Big Ten foes have worse odds: Michigan State has odds of +17000, and Maryland has odds of +43000. The highest odds in the Big Ten and in the nation right now are with conference opponents: Ohio State at +450 and Oregon at +600. All the odds reported in this post are via FanDuel.

The bigger question is, would any Wisconsin fan even take those +15000 odds? At least with any sizable money? With all Badgers fans know about Luke Fickell and the current demise of the program, it would be hard to put any real money on this program to win the national championship. However, seeing these odds makes you laugh or at least shake your head about what could be and maybe at some point, what will be.

The goal next season isn't the national championship for head coach Fickell; it's to get things back on track. The program cannot take another step backward, and it needs to find a way forward. Most Wisconsin fans want to see another bowl and a good one and get the arrow pointing toward a 2027 or 2028 national championship.
