The state of Wisconsin is on the verge of producing the rookie of the year in the NBA with Kon Knueppel, who's in a head-to-head battle with former Duke teammate Cooper Flagg. Knueppel had an offer from Greg Gard and Wisconsin, but as one of the best players in the country, he opted to go to Duke. Now, Gard is going back to the Knueppel family, hoping to land the younger brother of Kon, Kager.

According to multiple reports (Mark Miller was first), Gard has now offered Kager after his visit to Wisconsin. Kager took in the Iowa game yesterday and walked away with a chance to be on the court in two seasons as a Badger. However, like Kon, is it a lost cause to even go after him?

Kager is currently rated a 3-star by 24/7 Sports and a 4-star composite forward in the 2027 class. He's the fifth-best player in the state for his class and the 17th power forward. He is sitting on four offers now, with Wisconsin being the latest. His other offers are from DePaul, Purdue, and Toledo.

However, he's generating a lot of interest from all over the country, but with his class being only juniors in high school, the offers are still slowly rolling in. Being early and often for Gard may end up helping ultimately.

Kager isn't getting the same sort of national attention his brother Kon got, and this may end up helping Wisconsin ultimately, but it really depends on how Kager plays this season and next season, both in high school basketball and in AAU.

Kon flirted with Wisconsin while mostly leaning towards Duke in his senior year. He took a visit in September of his senior year, but ultimately, as the best player in the state and top-20 nationally, Duke was able to steal him away. Now, Gard is trying to avenge that loss with the younger Knueppel.
