The Wisconsin Badgers are through their eighth fall camp practice, and things continue to look more crisp and polished as players are learning the system and getting more in the swing of things. It's also been injury-free. There is one recent injury that popped up, and it's minor but something to monitor. Fall camp star linebacker Christian Alliegro is day-to-day with an apparent injury, according to On3.com's Evan Flood.

Christian Alliegro sat out the team drills as he's monitoring a minor injury

The good news is that it appears minor, as he was participating in the individual drills and had the pads on. There's been no word from the coaching staff on what he's dealing with, but the fact that he stayed in his uniform and pads is a great sign. It could be a simple tweak that they don't want to make worse by contact.

It gave redshirt freshman Thomas Heiberger some first-team reps and allowed the coaching staff to see what they are getting in the young player. That's a silver lining for the eighth practice. He returned from an injury he sustained in the spring. It's great to see him going full speed in fall camp.

According to Mark Stewart of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel from practice yesterday, "Heiberger handled himself well, didn’t make any glaring mistakes and delivered a nice shot on reserve running back Grover Bortolotti."

The players continue to practice with more and more contact as they get up to game speed with their first game looming in less than a month. They are almost through the training camp that they do at Platteville, which ends on August 11. The team will then move back to Madison, where they will begin their gameday prep and start work on preparing for the season.

Wisconsin takes on Miami (OH) in its first game of the 2025 season. That game is on Thursday night, August 28, at 8 pm CT.
