Wisconsin Hoops Commit Lighting Up Senior Season

Wisconsin basketball has found a real gem in local recruit Zach Kinziger, who will join the Badgers as part of the 2025 class. The DePere guard has been lighting up the scoreboard so far in his senior season, including a 35 point masterclass last night against Milwaukee Academy of Science and top recruit in the state Jamarion Batemon.

"Yeah, that was a huge win for us," Kinziger told 247Sports after his career night. "Against a team like that, coming to a neutral site with a bunch of fans packed in here, playoff atmosphere, that was a huge win for us."

Through his first six games, Kinziger is averaging 32 points per game to go along with five boards and two assists for the Redbirds. His domination is why he continues to rise in the rankings.

When the Badgers first recruited Kinziger, he was rated as three-star prospect and the 143rd ranked player overall. Since then, he's blossomed into a four-star recruit and the 94th ranked composite player in the country. If he keeps up this pace, his rating will only go higher this year.

The 2025 class as a whole is shaping up to be a good one for Greg Gard and company. Along with Kinziger, the Badgers also have Middleton, Wisconsin native Will Garlock, and New Zealand native Hayden Jones joining next season.

The tear Kinziger is on through his first six games this season may not be sustainable, but the future Badgers has certainly shown he belongs and will be a huge boost to the team in 2025.
