The fifth-best quarterback in the 2027 class, Israel Abrams, is planning a Wisconsin visit in the fall, and Luke Fickell has his sights set on landing him. According to 24/7 Sports, Abrams has plans to visit a handful of schools he's interested in when football begins. The list of schools is a bit surprising with really a random assortment of destinations.

Abrams plans to visit: Wisconsin, Iowa State, Purdue, Tennessee, and Northwestern. He holds over 15 offers from these schools as well as Ole Miss, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Indiana, and more. Abrams was one of the most impressive sophomores in the country, and his offers will continue to expand as his junior season rolls out in the next few weeks.

While his list may seem a bit random at first, he's mostly sticking close to home on his initial plans. He's a signal-caller from Arlington Heights, Illinois, playing for Montini Catholic. In his sophomore campaign, he passed for 2,033 yards with 29 touchdowns while only allowing an impressive three interceptions. He also completed over 60% of his passes. If he has another year like last year, the competition will only increase for Wisconsin.

He was part of the Under Armour Next program, and that continued to help increase his profile as he was listed as one of the best quarterback prospects at the camp. He has the ability to play out of the pocket but also extend plays with his feet. His ability to play the position at a high level already, while still growing and developing, has programs lining up.

While the recruiting cycle has just begun for the 2027 class and no commits have yet to give a verbal to Wisconsin, things will really begin to take shape in the fall. As the 2026 class is taking a final lap and adding a few more recruits, 2027 is just starting, and Luke Fickell is hoping Abrams is in that class.
