Official visit season is upon us and college programs around the country are hoping to use these visits to seal the deal and land elite high school recruits. Luke Fickell has a slew of prospects coming to Madison in the next few weeks and really it's hard to find a player in the list that isn't highly regarded. This 2027 recruiting class truly has a chance to be special.
It's already at top-15 in the country but the following four blue-chip recruits would catapult it into something the college world is talking about. Below are the 4-star players with scheduled visits who could truly commit to the Badgers. Luke Fickell is hoping to land them all but any of them would be huge for the program.
Cooper Ohnmacht - Athlete (Safety)
Ohnmact is set to visit Wisconsin on Friday, June 12. The star from Kansas has cut his list to six and plans to check them all out. The final six are Wisconsin, Vanderbilt, Kansas, Minnesota, Penn State, and Kansas State. The Badgers are one of the teams to watch out for as Jack Cooper has built a solid relationship with the 4-star recruit.
Ohnmact is officially listed as an athlete as he could play wide receiver or safety in college, but Wisconsin projects him to be a player on the defensive side of the ball.
Alijah Shaw - Offensive Tackle
Shaw is coming to Madison the week before Ohnmact on June 5th, according to 24/7 Sports. Shaw is a monster already at 6'8 and closing in on 300 pounds. He's the No. 2 recruit in Kansas and has offers from all over. He hasn't exactly narrowed his list, but his visits are lining up. Wisconsin is actually getting a second visit from Shaw and has some real momentum.
Evan Via - Defensive Back
Via will be on the same visit as Shaw and could be a fun double blue-chip weekend if Fickell can grab them both. Via is a 4-star consensus defensive back from Missouri. Wisconsin has a strong chance to land Via, but the elite safety has visits scheduled for Duke, Michigan State, and Iowa State.
Mekhi Williams - Safety
Williams is the player that Fickell is trying to flip from Florida State. There's real juice to think it's possible, especially as he heads to Madison very shortly. The 4-star safety from Florida will be on campus May 29th, and he's coming on a weekend that has 11 other recruits who are already committed to the Badgers. There will be a lot of pro-Wisconsin voices in his head.
