Kansas is now unranked and it's the first time that has happened in four years. They have been on an incredible run of relevancy, but now, after a loss to Utah and BYU, they have slipped out of the rankings. They also close the season on a tough stretch, taking on No. 10 Texas Tech, No. 4 Houston, and No. 22 Arizona. They have been miserable this season, and, in some ways, Wisconsin is behind it.
How so? Well, Wisconsin is part of the best transfer in the country and the worst transfer in the country, and while the Badgers didn't make AJ Storr's transfer, he left the Badgers and went to Kansas to get a bigger NIL deal. He then forgot how to play basketball.
The worst college basketball transfer this season: AJ Storr
It was frustrating for Wisconsin fans when Storr left and decided to move on to Kansas. He was dominant at Wisconsin, scoring close to 17 points a game. He was also considered one of the best players in the transfer portal, if not the very best.
The best player in the hoops portal is off the board - as Wisconsin wing AJ Storr is headed to Kansas.

Jayhawks have the best portal haul, when you add in Storr with Riley Kugel and Zeke Mayo.
When Bill Self said "We've been planning for next year for a month" - he wasn't lying pic.twitter.com/HtL4Q0afxx
The praise was all on Bill Self for bringing in top talent; he also added South Dakota State’s Zeke Mayo, Florida’s Riley Kugel, and Alabama’s Rylan Griffen. And of that group, Storr has been easily the worst. He's almost to the point of unplayable. He's currently only playing 16.4 minutes a game, which is the lowest of his career. He's shooting 38% from the field and 26% from three. He's scoring only 6.2 points a game. If you search his name on any social media site, you will find it full of Kansas fans tired of his inability on the court.
The best college basketball transfer this season: John Tonje
Wisconsin is not just behind the worst transfer, with AJ Storr taking off his Badgers uniform and putting on the Jayhawks one. They are arguably part of the best transfer during the last offseason in John Tonje. Tonje is having the exact opposite season as AJ Storr.
Wisconsin going from AJ Storr to John Tonje as its go-to guy did not seem like an upgrade last spring, but it has ended up being one of the most significant upgrades of this college hoops season.

Tonje is now up to 19.7 points a game on 48% shooting from the field and 39% from three. He's scoring more than he ever has in his career. His stock has only risen, while Storr's has only fallen. It's fair to say that Wisconsin is at the center of the best and the worst transfer in college basketball this season.
