The second match will be Texas versus Creighton beginning at 8:30 p.m. CT. Sunday, August 31st, will be the second day of the matches and will start with Texas and Wisconsin playing at 1:00 p.m. CT, followed by Kansas and Creighton at 3:30 p.m. CT.
There's a lot to love about this event: Wisconsin gets to host, it's high-level volleyball, it has the chance to set up any of these teams with big early season victories, and even there are former players now as assistant coaches on these teams.
All of the matches will be televised on the Big Ten Network and available to stream on the Big Ten+. Here's what the press release about the event says about it:
"The Opening Spike classic will take place on August 29th and 31st of Labor Day weekend at Wisconsin's own Kohl Center. Each match will also be nationally televised on the Big Ten Network (BTN). In addition, Wisconsin's Labor Day weekend events begin at Camp Randall Stadium with the football season opener on Thursday, Aug. 28 vs Miami (Ohio)."Wisconsin Athletics
It should be an excellent showcase of volleyball, and the Badgers' goal is to walk out with two big wins already on their record, ready to make a title run.
