The Badgers completed an epic comeback over Purdue in the Big Ten Tournament, rallying from down three in the final two innings. Wisconsin was able to score four runs quickly, including a final walk-off from Hannah Conger, to push the Badgers into the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament. But more importantly, it cemented the case that Yvette Healy's team deserves to be in the NCAA Tournament.

The Badgers went into the Big Ten Tournament as a bubble team with an 8-3 record to finish the regular season. Wisconsin is one of the hottest teams in the country in arguably the toughest conference. Finishing No. 7 in the Big Ten is respectable and often a sure-fire argument for NCAA Tournament birth.

Wisconsin softball has done enough to belong in the NCAA Tournament

Being able to take care of Purdue only closed the case. Often, bubble teams need that one postseason win to get in. That astonishing comeback truly matters for their inclusion.

The Badgers will now have to take on No. 2 Oregon, one of the softball national powers, but they shouldn't need a win there to get an NCAA Tournament birth. The Purdue win and the impressive season are enough of a resume to find their name called.

While Oregon is in the Big Ten now, the Badgers didn't play them at all this season, and thus, it's hard to know how the two teams match up. The Ducks are one of the premier softball teams in the country. Oregon didn't lose one conference tournament series the entire season. On the other hand, the Badgers are one of the hottest teams and have proven over the course of the season that they can hang with anyone.

Wisconsin will be a severe underdog in the game, but you never know. The game is today at 3:30 p.m. CT on the Big Ten Network. Beat the Ducks and the Badgers are 100% in the NCAA tournament, but even with a loss, Wisconsin has already done enough to prove they belong.
