The Early Signing Day is tomorrow, and the madness is all-consuming for college football. Flips, commitments, and decommitments are happening in a flurry. Wisconsin is no exception, as a revolving door, commits are going in and out. This time, it's an exit as 3-star TE Jack Janda has flipped his commitment to Iowa. The crazy part about it all is that Hawkeyes don't want him at tight end but instead at defensive end.

Hawkeyes hosted him twice in November and get a key piece to the class in a guy who was once considered a TE but had a fantastic senior year on the defensive side.https://t.co/qV1uwePvAo pic.twitter.com/BwP0GRCtaP

Janda committed to the Badgers back in June, but he's been considered one of the players that Wisconsin would have trouble keeping, as his recruitment remained active. He visited Stanford, Illinois, and Michigan State all before the month of June ended (after committing to Wisconsin).
Then Iowa entered the picture, but with a new idea for him: what if he played defensive end in college? Janda played both tight end and defensive end in high school, and his senior year made a name for himself on the defensive side of the ball. This seemed to intrigue Janda enough that he recently took a visit to Iowa on November 24.
Today, he decided he wants to be a Hawkeye and play defensive end in college. It's another loss for Luke Fickell and the Badgers, who have lost a handful of recruits in the 2026 class and now one of their two tight ends.
The other tight end in the class is Jack Sievers from Archbishop Murphy, just north of Seattle, WA. He's a 3-star recruit and projects well at the college level.
One Wisconsin beat writer said that Luke Fickell and team are working hard right now not only to keep recruits but also to add a few more to their thinning 2026 recruiting class.
