The Wisconsin Badgers are in the midst of a big offseason recruiting push for the class of 2026. They had a huge recruiting last weekend, with well over a dozen recruits checking out Madison. One of those recruits and easily a top priority in the class is Amari Latimer.
Yesterday, recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong for On3.com logged a prediction that Amari Latimer would commit to Wisconsin. While this is a new prediction, he's not the first expert to put a prediction down. Evan Flood of 24/7 Sports has also predicted that Latimer will become a Badger.
Amari Latimer is one of the most important Wisconsin recruits in the 2026 class
The top programs in the nation are recruiting 4-star RB Amari Latimer. He recently came off his Wisconsin visit but the other visits he plans to take are Michigan, Texas, and Georgia the rest of this month. He's also considering Florida State and Tennessee. He is a star player at the position, but Wisconsin may have a slight leg up over the other schools.
Wisconsin is home to his brother DB Geimere Latimer II. After Amari's Wisconsin visit, he posted on his Instagram a picture of him and his brother decked out in their Wisconsin uniforms with the caption, "Family affair?"
Amari Latimer also seems to appreciate Coach Devon Spalding (RBs coach for Wisconsin). In a recent interview with "Locked On Badgers," Amari talks all about his relationship with potentially his future running backs coach. He answered the final question of the short clip, "Could you see him as a coach you could play for?" And Amari answered without hesitation, "Yes, sir, most definitely." He also talked about how Amari has grown close with his family and vice versa. Watch the clip below:
Wisconsin could be on the verge of signing arguably its most important recruit. It's hard to know how the rest of the recruiting will shake out for Amari, whether he will make sure he uses all his official visits, or whether he will pivot and become a Badger earlier, as some of the experts seem to indicate.
