July is about as offseason as you get in the college sports world, and thus, the news is a trickle more than a waterfall. This week, there wasn't a ton of excitement, but still some interesting links that you can find below. We have analysts with completely different takes on Wisconsin football for 2025. A TJ Watt update from Adam Schefter, and a pair of recruiting nuggets that you may have missed.

Analysts split on their perception of 2025 Wisconsin football

Josh Pate, as he was working through the over and under of specific teams, was about as low as you can get with Wisconsin football. He was aghast by the schedule and said, "I don't know where they find six wins." He was big on taking the under. Feel free to read that article and watch that video here.

The other analyst was Phil Steele, who ranked all 136 football programs from the best to the worst. He put Wisconsin at No. 32, ahead of a bunch of other Big Ten programs like Washington, Nebraska, Rutgers, and yes, Minnesota. Ha! I'm with Phil on this one.

Adam Schefter gives pessimistic update on T.J. Watt

ESPN Insider Adam Schefter says that Watt and the Steelers are super far apart and something will eventually have to give in the contract dispute. With only two weeks left until training camp, it's time to act soon, or else Watt plans to sit out. The story about that is here.

2 recruiting stories for Wisconsin

This is sort of a good news/bad news link dump in this section. One story is a good-natured story about how Jayden Petit ended up choosing Wisconsin and what Jordan Reid said to help him make that call. It's both humorous and encouraging as a Badger fan.

The second piece of bad news is that Wisconsin lost out on a 4-star safety that had the Badgers in the final four. Read that here.
