It was a weird week in Wisconsin Badgers sports news. There were some wins and some losses. The biggest loss was what happened to Nyzier Fourqurean, and the biggest win was T.J. Watt's mega contract that made him the highest-paid non-QB ever. Contracts will forever continue to expand, but for now, Wisconsin can say that they produced the top-paid defender in the NFL.

Luke Fickell loses his prized DB out of Texas

Fickell swooped into Texas and grabbed one of the fastest defenders in the state. Zachary Taylor was a fun addition to the class, but it didn't last much more than a month. Eventually, Taylor decided to stay closer to home and commit to TCU. It's a frustrating loss, and Fickell will need to find another DB in the 2026 class with only Carsen Eloms left. You can read about it here.

The NCAA won it's appeal vs. Nyzier Fourqurean

The other frustrating loss and even a bigger one was Fourqurean's lost case to the NCAA. While Fourqurean won his case in the circuit court, when the NCAA brought the appeal before the United States Court of Appeals, the case went against Fourqurean 2-1. He has now been deemed ineligible to play next season. Read about that here. Or you can read about what the Badgers do at cornerback now without him.

News about J.J. and T.J. Watt

J.J. came to campus to speak to the football team. The impressive part of that visit was the picture he took next to true freshman Samuel Lateju. It's incredible that Lateju and Watt look pound for pound with each other. There was a gimmick a few years ago that the Houston Texans did where fans could see how they match up standing next to a life-size image of J.J., and he had a way to make fans look small.

Samuel Lateju would size up very well to J.J. See the picture here.

Oh, and J.J. Watt also bought an overseas soccer team. Might as well spend your money on something enjoyable. Speaking of money, T.J. Watt signed a HUGE deal with the Steelers. Read that here.
