Wisconsin's top recruit is now 4-star wide receiver Jayden Petit, according to 24/7 Sports. Today, the rankings were updated, and Petit jumped up multiple spots to become a top-100 player in the country. He's now listed as the 93rd best player in the 2026 recruiting class, leapfrogging over 100 spots from 209.

That jump shows how big his high school season has been, but the problem is Petit has been on flip watch for a bit as he's visited other programs, and a big one to watch is Oklahoma. So, Luke Fickell may have a top-100 player now in the 2026 class; the challenge will be to keep him.

Petit has had a monster high school season and ended up becoming Southwest Florida's all-time receiver with a grand total of 3,190 yards in his high school career. It came on the back of a 215-yard game. This happened in October, and he still had a few games left to make that record even higher.

While he remains committed to Wisconsin, there are many who are unsure if he will stick to that commitment. Even the Naples News article that described him breaking that record said this toward the end, "For now, he'll continue to perfect his craft before heading to play college football, whether that's with Wisconsin or elsewhere."

That doesn't inspire much confidence, and recently, Rivals logged a prediction that he is flipping to Oklahoma.

Luke Fickell's recruiting class has been taking hit after hit this year, and if the Badgers end up losing Petit, that may be the cherry on top to a doomed class. It's hard to see Fickell doing anything but going heavy into the portal while he tries to get Wisconsin back to its winning ways.
