The 12-5 upset is alive and well after Wisconsin fell to High Point in their opening game of the NCAA Tournament. The 5-seeded Badgers came into the Big Dance with some momentum after a deep run in the Big Ten Tournament and a return of their injured star Nolan Winter. However, the Panthers had other ideas, and their game-winning basket was one of the most improbable shots of the entire season.

Chase Johnston, a High Point guard who had not made a single two-point shot all season, made an easy layup with 11.2 seconds left to win the game. All of his 64 makes before that shot had come from 3-point land, so it's only fitting that the Badgers get bounced from the tourney on his one and only two-point make of the year.

Wisconsin gets knocked out of the NCAA Tournament on an improbable shot
It's a disappointing end for a Badgers team that had Final Four aspirations. Wisconsin had already taken down some of the tournament's best teams like Michigan, Illinois and Michigan State during the regular season, but the 12-seeded High Point Panthers would not take no for an answer. It's the second time in three seasons that Wisconsin has bowed out of the first-round to a lower seeded opponent.
At times this season, it certainly felt like Wisconsin had played up, and also down, to the level of their opponents. While upset wins over Top-10 teams came in bunches, so too did head scratching losses, like against the 11-17 Oregon Ducks. That became more of the same in the tournament, where the Badgers simply could not pull away from High Point.
Losing is never fun, but losing to a player who had yet to make a two-point shot all season just adds to the pain. This is a loss that Badger fans won't soon forget.
