The Wisconsin Badgers dismantled the Washington Huskies 88-62 in a wire-to-wire victory. It was just the game the Badgers needed after collapsing in the final minutes against Oregon and eventually losing that game in overtime. The Badgers came out hot and never let themselves cool down. John Blackwell came out of the tunnel like a man on a mission with his first career double-double at 24 points and 10 rebounds.

After the game was over, the Wisconsin Basketball social media account sent out a hilarious post about both schools being called "UW."

Wisconsin posts that Washington is now "formerly known as 'UW'"

The post is fantastic humor in so many ways. It helps to know that both fanbases will refer to their own school as "UW." There were jokes on social media about how the winner of the game would be the university that gets to keep it, and the other would have to relinquish the title. Now, Wisconsin is making good on it with this post.

The post indicates that Wisconsin changed the Wikipedia page for the Washington Huskies from what used to say "Also known as UW, and informally U-Dub or U Dub" to "Formerly known as UW..." With the caption, "These are the rules Washington." Hilarious.

Did Wisconsin actually change the Washington Wikipedia page?

The answer is no, they didn't, though; you may want to check in the next couple of days as fans tend to snowball jokes like this into actually making something a reality. You can follow this link to get to that exact article referenced in the post above.

However, the joke is still funny, and maybe there should be some unofficial trophy or ribbon for "being the real UW" that gets handed back and forth like other college rivalries. Even though this matchup is nowhere near a rivalry, as the last time these two basketball programs saw each other was 1964, it's now fun and games in the Big Ten.
