The Wisconsin Badgers have added another linemen to the 2026 recruiting class, Maddox Cochrane. He is a 6'7", 285lb lineman that has shown great versatility and a ton of promise at the next level. The Badgers were able to secure his commitment over the weekend when he was in town on his visit during the Spring Showcase. That visit pushed him over the edge before he took his next visit to the University of Virigina.
This is a big deal because he's a 3-star product of Richmond, Virginia, and yet he decided to leave the state to play for the Badgers and their offensive line coach, AJ Blazek.

Maddox Cochrane has committed to Luke Fickell and the University of Wisconsin
Maddox Cochrane lists in commitment note that he is excited about working with all the coaches and staff, "That took a chance on me and have decided to give me an amazing opportunity to develop and play at the highest level with them during my college career."
Cochrane was set to visit the University of Virginia on Apirl 25th but has decided instead to just lock in with Wisconsin. He had 12 offers and was strongly considering Virginia Tech, Virginia, Duke, Rutgers, and Wisconsin.
This is the second commitment that Wisconsin has been able to land along the offensive line for 2026. The other was the very first commitment they got in the class from Indiana, a 3-star lineman named Benjamin Novak, who also posted about the commitment of Cochrane his future teammate along the line.

Luke Fickell is starting to put together a pretty impressive early 2026 recruiting class with six commitments all ranked in the upper 3-star range by 24/7 Sports. They currently rank 36th in the 2026 recruiting rankings, according to the same site. Things have really picked up the last few weeks with spring visits and Cochrane is a byproduct of a very successful visit.
