Mason Reiger is ready to shock the world at the NFL Combine. In his media interview session today, ahead of testing tomorrow, he took the podium and warned NFL Scouts that he is going to test "off the charts." It was a clear message to everyone paying attention that he came ready to showcase that he's one of the best defensive ends and that his sixth-round projection right now is a joke.

Mason Reiger plans to 'test off the charts' athletically at the NFL Combine

Former Wisconsin Badger, Mason Reiger, was a star at the East-West Shrine Bowl, both in the practice leading up to the week, a standout performer every single day, and then was the defensive MVP. That chip on his shoulder and work ethic that has turned heads all year at Wisconsin and at the Shrine Bowl is now being carried into the NFL Combine.
"A lot of people don't know how well I'm going to test, off the charts, athletically. I saw some things come out about me being near the bottom tier as an edge rusher athletically and I think they're going to be surprised after this week."Mason Reiger
He was asked a follow-up question: "In which categories?" And as confident as you will ever see a player, he said, "everything."
He is flying under the radar; maybe it's because he started as a walk-on at Louisville and was mostly unheralded even as a transfer out of Louisville. Then, playing for a struggling Big Ten team didn't exactly put his name on the map. Even if he was one of the top edge rushers in the Big Ten, statistically and athletically. However, that's exactly what the NFL Combine is for. Players like Reiger get to showcase themselves in front of NFL Scouts.
Reiger will no doubt 'WOW' NFL Scouts, but it will be a question of how much. Now with these confident comments, more will be watching his scores and seeing if his numbers truly are "off the charts."
