After an abysmal start to Wisconsin's game against Maryland, the boo birds were coming down hard on Luke Fickell and the Badgers.
From blocked kicks on special teams, to careless plays on offense, the Badgers looked all out of sorts in the first half against the Terrapins. At one point, the entire student section erupted in 'Fire Fickell' chants.
After a blowout loss to Alabama last week, the Badgers were in need of a big win to right the ship. Maryland quickly went up 20-0 in the first half as Wisconsin struggled to show any signs of life. So far on Saturday, nothing has shown that Wisconsin is at all improved from last week or even the last year, which begs the question--are the students right?
Is Luke Fickell's time coming to an end at Wisconsin?

Since joining the Badgers, Fickell is 0-7 against ranked teams and has yet to show much progress in his three seasons at the helm. While injuries, including today's re-aggravation to quarterback Billy Edward's knee, can be an excuse, there hasn't been much improvement to the team regardless. If Wisconsin suffers yet another blowout loss in back to back weeks, there might be a legitimate discussion about Fickell's status with the team.
The season isn't over yet, but another bad loss and fans will be looking for someone to blame. The Badgers haven't looked the part the last two weeks and they're quickly running out of time to figure things out with a brutal stretch of games looming.
It's hard to see this team winning any Big Ten games if they ultimately lose to Maryland. Fans and students are tired of the product that Luke Fickell keeps putting out week after week.
