There have been some to say that Wisconsin vs. Iowa is a must-win game for both teams, but that's nonsense. Each team is clearly above the bubble, and losing to the other won't kill the NCAA Tournament dream. It will be a quality loss for either team. However, it is a must-win game for seeding implications. One bracketologist goes so far as to say the six-seed line could be open for Wisconsin or Iowa.
That's a massive implication considering Iowa and Wisconsin are both predicted right around the eight or nine-seed at the current moment. Each team has flirted with being included on the seven-seed line, but neither is firmly there. A jump to the six-seed would be huge for one of these programs
The last 6 seed debate is certainly an interesting one. There is quite a gap above that now with BYU’s win tonight. But, with Utah State & Villanova losing today, who is 24th overall?

The committee referenced a few times top 3 wins today. Helped UConn & TTU. Could that mean…
Wisconsin could find itself flirting with the 6-seed line if they beat Iowa today

The reasoning behind T3 Bracketology's thinking is that the five-seed and under is easier to weigh and figure out. There's a gap to the six-seed line, and T3 asks the question, "Who is 24th overall?" He throws out some options based on what the committee says they value (top 3 wins). Those wins helped UCONN and Texas Tech move up. T3 says what about Iowa, Wisconsin, Saint Louis, Villanova, or Utah State?
Wisconsin has three top-10 wins on its resume, with a win in Ann Arbor over Michigan. The only other team to beat the Wolverines was No. 3 Duke (yesterday). That's a huge resume boost if the committee is truly weighing top-3 wins.
Iowa now has a top-10 win over Nebraska and could also find its resume helped by that. However, both Wisconsin and Iowa have to go through each other. Today's game added some massive implications. Not for tournament inclusion but for tournament seeding. Wisconsin needs to win, and maybe this extra pressure gives them the juice they love to play with.
