Robin Pingeton and the Wisconsin Women's Basketball team announced that they have scheduled a home-and-home series with Marquette. This is important news on a couple of fronts. First, it's the first announced game of the Pingeton era, so we can already see a little bit of where her head is at with upcoming opponents.

It's also a renewed rivalry. Marquette and Wisconsin have no love lost, especially when it comes to men's hoops, but now it's returning to the women's basketball world. They haven't faced each other as opponents since 2017, but now it's back starting this season on November 8.

Wisconsin women's basketball will face Marquette in back to back years

The November 8, 2025, game will be in Milwaukee, and the 2026 game (which doesn't have a date yet) will be at home in Madison. No game times or ticket sales have been announced yet, only the renewed series.

While Wisconsin has been down the last few seasons, they actually hold the lifetime record over the Lady Golden Eagles. According to the Wisconsin press release, "Wisconsin holds a 13-10 all-time advantage in the series, which hasn't been played since 2017. The teams are tied 5-5 in games played in Milwaukee, while the Badgers hold an 8-4 edge in Madison."

Robin Pingeton isn't going to shy away from the competition or the rivalry. The Marquette Golden Eagles went 21-11 last season with a 12-6 conference record, winning 13-2 at home. The team made the WBIT tournament and made it to the second round. It's a team that's done a bit of reloading in 2025 and will be licking their chops for a restructured Wisconsin women's basketball team.
