The Wisconsin Badgers take on the UCLA Bruins in an important Big Ten showdown for each team. This is a battle for those top spots in the conference and to remain undefeated in Big Ten play. UCLA and Wisconsin are both looking for a game to legitimize that they aren't a fluke and that they are for real. The Bruins had a little something special last week with the upset over the Oregon Ducks, but to beat Wisconsin will prove it wasn't the fact that the Ducks were simply turnover-happy.

Wisconsin thought they had the big win in the conference over Penn State, only to find out that the Nittany Lions aren't good this year. A win over No. 12 UCLA will be hard to ignore.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.

The odds haven't moved much in the last few days. The week opened with 4.5 or 3.5 (depending on which book you were looking at) in favor of the Bruins. After the injury to Nico Iamaleava was announced, it moved to 2.5, and it's hovered there ever since. Typically, a sportsbook will give the home team three points to their credit, and so this game would essentially be a pick'em if on a neutral field.

Unranked Wisconsin getting such odds against the No. 12 team in the country shows that Vegas thinks there is some legitimacy to the Badgers. Or at least there's an idea that they can't fully trust what the Badgers will do against the Bruins.

Wisconsin vs. UCLA game prediction

The first prediction to look at is the Vegas prediction. By taking the odds, spread, and over/under, you can do a little math and figure out what Vegas thinks the final score will be. If the game plays out straight as they predict, it will go well. That's always a fun one to look at because Vegas doesn't like to bet against themselves, so they try to get as close to reality as possible, even if reality is impossible to predict.

So Vegas is predicting about 20 points for Wisconsin and about 23 for UCLA. The cleanest prediction if you want to take the over is UCLA 23, Wisconsin 21 (44 total points).

The second prediction is my own. This feels like a good game for the Badgers to win, with a bye week to prepare and a backup quarterback for UCLA under center. It will be a frustrating game because of UCLA's running attack and defense, but still winnable if the Badgers execute their game plan.

BoH prediction: Wisconsin wins 28-17
