Wisconsin women's basketball head coach Robin Pingeton has added another transfer player today from within the Big Ten. 6'3" forward Shay Bollin has announced on Instagram that she is headed to Wisconsin to play for the Badgers. She is an intriguing player with a really high ceiling but hasn't had quite the career she would have expected to this point. She will have two years left of eligibility due to losing her junior year at Illinois to injury.

Shay Bollin was the 26th-best high school recruit in her recruiting class, and she originally committed to play for Duke. She spent her freshman year mostly playing off the bench for the Blue Devils. She only got in for eight games, but in one of those games against Charleston Southern, she scored nine points.

Bollin then transferred to Illinois, where she played more but was still in a role off the bench behind Kendall Bostic and Kamille Hobby for the Illini. Her junior year was expected to be a bigger role after only averaging 2.1 points and 1.3 rebounds in 8 minutes a game as a sophomore. However, she was injured before the season and missed the entirety.

She's coming to Madison looking for a bigger role and more opportunity to get back to being one of the top players in the country (as she was out of high school).

In the press release from Wisconsin athletics, Bollin said, "From the moment I connected with the coaches and players, it just felt like home. I can't wait to grow both on and off the court, and chase big goals while representing the Badgers."

These are the types of players that Wisconsin needs to add—high-ceiling players who have a lot to prove. The Badgers are also in a similar place, looking to prove something in the Big Ten again with a chip on their shoulder under a new coach and new leadership. This is a very intriguing addition for Wisconsin.
