The other plays, however, might not have been possible without this effort from quarterback Tanner McEvoy.
Wisconsin found the going tough early in the battle for the Heartland Trophy. A 3-3 tie held into the second quarter, and the Badgers were struggling to move the football.
Enter Tanner McEvoy midway through the second as the Badgers attempted to mix up the offensive attack.
McEvoy kept the read-option fake and took it 45 yards to pay dirt, putting Wisconsin up 9-3 after a missed extra point.
The play swung the momentum into Wisconsin’s favor, and the Badgers went on to earn a tough win. But more on that game later…
