Pre-Combine NFL Mock Draft Roundup: Melvin Gordon Should Hear His Name Early

Melvin Gordon hits the turf Saturday for the on-field portion of the NFL combine, looking to improve his positioning in the upcoming 2015 NFL Draft. According to many pre-combine NFL mock drafts, Melvin Gordon could be a first round draft pick.
When we first examined the NFL mocks several weeks ago, most considered Gordon a late first round draft pick. That consensus remains today, although several have him a second rounder.

Gordon is looking to become the first running back selected in the first round of the NFL draft since Trent Richardson in 2012.
His largest competition? Georgia running back Todd Gurley.
Gurley is still recovering from a torn ACL, so Gordon has the chance to use the combine to get a leg up on his competition.
