Wisconsin’s likely top playmaker in 2015 has huge shoes to fill.
Wisconsin Badgers
It’s basically impossible to replace what Melvin Gordon did for this Badgers team a year ago, but that doesn’t mean Clement can’t make a statement for Wisconsin.
He’s proven to be a reliable option, as evidenced by churning out nearly 1,000 yards a season ago while averaging 6.5 yards per carry. He wasn’t just piling on yards in garbage time, either, as he was a nice change-of-pace when Gordon needed a break.
His best game of the season came against Illinois, when he took 13 carries for 164 yards, including a 72-yard score. He was also instrumental in the Badgers’ overtime win against Auburn in the Outback Bowl, when he took 15 carries for 105 yards and added a receiving touchdown.
In two seasons as a Badger Clement has totaled nearly 1,500 yards and has scored 18 touchdowns (16 rushing, 2 receiving).
While no one expects him to replace Gordon’s production, Clement is expected to be among the best running backs in the Big Ten.
Clement will see the most carries of any Badger this season, and fans are hoping his playmaking ways will continue throughout the year.
