Will the Badgers win the Big 10 West?

Rayan: Yup. I think Wisconsin will go undefeated in Big 10 play. But even if they should slip up, their soft schedule will make up for it. Wisconsin avoids Ohio State, Michigan State, Michigan, and Penn State, while as Erik noted, Nebraska and Minnesota have bookmarked losses against Michigan State and Ohio State respectively.

Jim: In a word, yes. Wisconsin shouldn’t lose more than one game in conference play, and without a runaway favorite, that should be enough to put them back in the Big Ten Championship game.

Erik: The Badgers will win the Big Ten West and represent the division in the conference title game. Once again, Wisconsin is benefitted by a weak Big Ten schedule with no Ohio State or Michigan State on the slate, unlike the Badgers’ two top competitors. Minnesota plays the Buckeyes on the road, and Nebraska hosts Michigan State.

Taylor: I have the Badgers winning the West again this year. Although the competition is getting tougher (i.e. Minnesota, Nebraska), the West is still somewhat weak. And the fact that Wisconsin will not face Ohio State, Michigan State or Penn State this year makes it an easier road to Indianapolis.

Jon: No doubt. It is the easiest division in any Power 5 conference and the only other contenders, Nebraska and Minnesota, lost key components of their offense and defense to the NFL draft in Gregory/Abdullah and Cobb/Williams.
