Every No. 1 seeded team in the tournament is still alive, and Saturday’s action will feature exclusively one versus two matchups.
Kicking off the day will be Oklahoma against Oregon, after the Sooners easily handled Texas A&M in the Sweet 16 on the way to a 77-63 win in the Sweet 16. Jordan Woodard scored 22 points and Buddy Hield added 17 in the Sooners victory.
They take on the Oregon Ducks, who earned an equally impressive 82-68 victory over the Duke Blue Devils in the Sweet 16. Despite 24 points from Brandon Ingram, Oregon advanced thanks to 22 points from Dillon Brooks and 16 from Elgin Cook.
Following that matchup, the second 1-2 game of the day will feature Villanova and Kansas.
Villanova earned a spot in the Elight Eight with a runaway Sweet 16 win over Miami (FL) by a 92-69 score. Kris Jenkins and Ryan Arcidiacono each scored 21 points and Daniel Ochefu scored 17 in the victory.
