Wisconsin Football has claimed Paul Bunyan’s real axe every year since 2003.  Not every year is a noteworthy clash in its own right beyond just the resumption of the historic rivalry.  Some years have been lucky, others ugly, and a few were Wisconsin Football in a rout.  In 2013, Wisconsin Football played at Minnesota and ground out a 20-7 victory behind a superlative defensive effort.

The only Gopher points were off a Pick6 as Chris Borland (12 tackles) and the Wisconsin Football defense never gave cracked.   Wisconsin Football held Minnesota to 185 total yards, forced three fumbles, and recorded six sacks.

The win made it an even 10 straight wins in the series which is a significant milestone.  I sent a tin Wisconsin Badger license plate to a Minnesota Gopher friend in honor of our 10th anniversary.   Pretty sure his daughter will be enrolling at UW-Madison in about, well, 10 years.
