Badger of Honor is working to do some Q&A with our friends from other Big Ten blogs in preparation for the 2017 college football season
Our 3rd installment features a Q&A with Connor Muldowney from the Spartan Avenue blog covering all things Michigan State. So keep an eye on this for both football and especially basketball season where the hype train is already in high gear.

Thanks to Connor for his answers about Michigan State football. The Spartans surprisingly finished 3-9 (1-8) during the 2016 season after reaching the College Football Playoff during the previous season. So we’ll try and figure out why things went so wrong and what to look for in the new season Spartan fans cannot wait to start.

Wisconsin Football does not face Michigan State this season. In 2016, the #11 Badgers and #8 Spartans clashed in East Lansing to open Big Ten play. Wisconsin humiliated Michigan State dominating the hosts by a 30-6 score. As was often the case, the Badger defense stole the show. Wisconsin picked off Spartan QB Tyler O’Connell three times part of four forced turnovers to go along with four sacks.
Michigan State won one more game the rest of the season. Wisconsin actually sustained its only two regular season losses the next two weeks against Michigan and The Ohio State.
In 2017, the Spartans have a tricky schedule including facing Western Michigan non-conference. I’m not sure if Notre Dame actually counts as a tough opponent anymore. Michigan State can help out Wisconsin when it plays Minnesota, Iowa, and Northwestern during Big Ten play.
